Mapping of eHealth Services
The first phase of our implementation strategy involved mapping and identification of best practices and innovative eHealth solutions in the Northern Periphery which can be transferred, further developed and integrated into a health care system elsewhere in the partner regions. We have placed special focus on new eHealth service concepts and solutions for primary health care, chronic conditions and remote specialist services. This work, which forms the core of work package 2, Mapping e-Health Services, has been completed in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Scotland. The results from this mapping exercise are summarized in a Portfolio, which introduces health care system infrastructures of partner countries, summarizes challenges and obstacles for introduction of e-Health solutions and describes the best e-Healthpractices in partner countries. The results are also available on-line in our e-Health database. This work package allowed us to identify and select the most interesting services and innovations for piloting.
Our mapping results have also been published in peer-reviewed US journal, TELEMEDICINE and e-HEALTH VOL. 16 NO. 10 . DECEMBER 2010
